Strictly Surprising

Social media is abuzz following last nights Strictly Result show. Controversial couple Seann Walsh and Katya Jones have been making more headlines for their activities off the dance floor than on it. and their quickstep on Saturday failed to impress the judges leaving them near the bottom of the results table. The public vote failed to save them from the dreaded dance off and it was left to the judges to decide between them and fellow contestants Vick Hope and Graziano Di Prima. 3 of the 4 judges opted to save Seann and Katya, a move which left disgusted fans taking to Social Media questioning the surprise decision.

Equally surprising was the announcement on Friday that former deputy prime minister, Sir Nick Clegg will take up a senior post at social media giant Facebook as head of global affairs and communication. Facebook has been under severe criticism over transparency and the role of 'fake news' after the 2016 EU referendum and the 2017 election of Donald Trump as US President.  It also faces a potential £1.2 billion fine for a data breach that allowed hackers to access the personal information of 30 million users.

Labour were quick to condemn the appointment of Mr Clegg, saying it was 'a damming indictment of the sorry state of our county's politics' that he was becoming a lobbyist for the firm whilst it is under investigation both in the UK and by the European Union.
