April 1st may be synonymous with April Fools but is is also the date that changes to the National Minimum and National Living wage come into effect.  These changes include the largest increase in a decade for the rates that apply to 18-20 and 21-24 year olds.  More employers than ever before will be affected by these changes so make sure you check out the new rates to avoid any nasty surprises....

Using Xero - just in case you didn't know.......

If you are using Xero software - the file storage for documents is brilliant. You can open an invoice in here and post it directly whilst its still open on the screen. You can add documents such as HP agreements etc to the actual nominal account on the chart of accounts. We are all about making clients lives easier - they won't even have to search for their HP and lease documents at year end for their accountants - they will all be attached in the correct place. Its brilliant - loving Xero softw...

......bet its the same in the Warwickshire office too. Another month end gone and by day 6 of this month one of our clients will be reviewing his monthly management accounts for June. By keeping on top of his bookkeeping every week on Xero, we are able to close his month end and provide him with his results just 6 days into the next month. This client really does know his numbers and use them to run his business....

Just thinking how lucky our clients are - logged into Xero this morning and reconciled a weeks bank transactions so easily - once the you are set up we can keep on top of your bookkeeping throughout the month then at the month end we can have your monthly management accounts ready soon after month end. Remember though - you have to do your bit to help us achieve this - just make sure you send us all your invoices and receipts on a regular basis. We like Receipt Bank - it works well with Xero and...

Met with a very reasonable chartered accountant today and agreed some great rates for our clients! He loves cloud accounting, Xero and Quick Books almost as much as we do and will help us provide an even more amazing service.

One of our clients is out with a friend. Client pays for dinner, photographs the receipt using Receipt Bank, presses OK and off it goes to Xero! "Wow" says friend "I want that!" "Easy - call the accounts place!" raves client. What are you waiting for.....

At dinner yesterday, a friend was moaning about keeping all his receipts for his bookkeeper. With the technology we use, there is no need to worry - just photograph your receipt with your phone and with one swipe its sent to us to add to your accounts.
